Beim Jazz-Monday in Pat's Pub haben wir uns für unseren Mitsubishi L300, hier Modell „Delica“, entschieden und ihn am Dienstag in Chilliwack abgeholt, keine Woche nach unserer Ankunft in Kanada. Die Umschreibung und Versicherung gab's im Walmart, dem Supermarkt, in dem es in Nordamerika so gut wie alles gibt.
Danach ging's zu Canadian Tire, wo es all das gibt, was es im Walmart doch nicht gibt. Zum Beispiel eine Akkuschrauber- Stichsägen- Kombination mit der Nico unseren „Yeti“ am Straßenrand zwischen Canadian Tire, Walmart und den Vancouver Filmstudios umgebaut und eingerichtet hat - innerhalb von drei Tagen mit etwas Sperrholz und Dachlatten.
Kurz bevor wir in die Wildniss aufbrechen wollten, haben wir ihn nochmal bei einem absoluten Mitsubishi-Spezialisten auf Herz und Nieren checken lassen. Dieser Typ träumt nachts von Mitsubishis und hat Nico alles wichtige über das Auto erklärt und gezeigt, während ich dort gleich noch die Vorhänge waschen durfte.
Nun sitze ich in unserem fahrbaren Wohn-, Schlaf- und Arbeitszimmer inkl. Küche mit Blick auf den Lake Alouette. Letzte Nacht war die erste Nacht im Buschcamp mit Blick in den Himmel, denn der
Mitsubishi ist mit diesem genialen Glasdach ausgestattet.
Und warum eigentlich "Yeti"?! - Unser Dank für den Namen, vor allem aber unser Bettzeug und weitere warme, kanadataugliche Ausstattung gilt den Daunen-Spezialisten aus meiner alten Heimat in

It was Jazz-Monday in Pat's pub, when we decided for our Mitsubishi L300 or „Delica“. We got him on Tuesday, so just under a week since our arrival in Canada. Paperwork and insurance was done
in Walmarkt, where else?! You'd get nearly anything in Walmart in North Amerika, won't you.
Afterwards we went to Canadian Tire where you'd get anything else, a cordless powerdrill jigsaw combination for example, that Nico used to build our new home, together with a bit of plywood
and a few roof laths. That was on the side of the road just behind Walmart, Canadian Tire and the Vancouver Filmstudios, within three days.
Just before we'd finally take off to the wilderness, we took the van to a Mitsubishi maniac to give it a good check and tune up. This guy was genuine, he knew what he did and explained anything important about the car to Nico, while I was allowed to wash the curtains in his place.
So now I'm sitting in our new home with Lake Alouette view at the moment. Last night was the first night out bush with that gorgeous view into the sky, as the van comes with that unique glass
roof.
