Von der Straße ins Sternehotel

*english version below*

Previously on this blog: Just after our arrival on Newfoundland, we met its overwhelmingly friendly and generous people and we got just one phonecall on our new cellphone, offering jobs incl. accomodation for the two of us. Just because we thought it cannot be so easy, we went on a last lap of roadtrip around the island until last Saturday.

I have to confess, with winter coming and the prospect of a nice and cosy home, my travelling mood was not the same any more the last few days on the road. Nico was sceptical until the end, whether things could be so easy. But it was. Last week we moved from the road to the resort – from wet wipes, dry shampoo and service station showers to jacuzzy bathtub, from camping stove to fully equipped kitchen, from Planar (preheating in the car) to (electric) fireplace but also from long days sitting in the car to gym and pool and also reactivating yoga studio.

Because the staff appartment is still occupied and it's off season, we've been booked in one of the fancy condos for the first weeks of our stay at the new workplace, Marble Inn Resort. I can enjoy the comforts of this new home even more, since I still have to wait for christmas functions and the ski season to start so the restaurant would reopen. Nico is working already.

Beforehand people were a bit surprised, we were looking for work in Newfoundland as it has the highest unemployment rate, not the best wages unfortunately and even winter coming soon. But, our roadtrip took us here with bankaccounts getting low. Also we have comparable conditions at home and got along there as well. Well and as written in the last blog article, things turned out good quickly for us.

So that is how we're gonna spend the winter in beautyful Newfoundland, working and living in the comfortable 4,5 star Marble Inn Resort, just opposite of Marble Mountain Skiresort, which seems to be an insider tipp for skitourists.
