Als wir vor einem Jahr im Sod Hotel, Zimmer 213 in Ulaan Bataar fest saßen, hätte ich mich tot gelacht, wenn mir jemand prophezeit hätte, dass ich heute in unserem eigenen Haus am Uckersee meinen Rucksack packe, um nach nem Dreivierteljahr gut bezahlter Festanstellung einfach mal in den Urlaub in die USA zu fliegen.
Aber genau so ist es. Durch Freunde und Bekannte, die wir in den letzten Jahren unterwegs kennengelernt haben, hat es sich ergeben, dass ich meinen ersten Urlaub aus der Festanstellung in den USA verbringen werde. Es wird ein Kontrastprogramm zur Mongolei und Sibirien vor einem Jahr, so viel ist sicher. Aber ich bin extrem gespannt auf den nächsten Roadtrip - diesmal in die USA mit Jenny.
One year ago we were sitting in a cheap hotel in Ulan Batar, stuck in Mongolia. If back then, somebody would have told me, I'd be in my own little house by the lake today, packing my things for holidays in the US after almost a year of decent empoyee-work, i would have laughed me head off.
But that's how the story went. I am pleased we met so many great people along the way the last years and through that, the idea came up to fly over to the US. It will be totally different to the experiences we made in Mongolia and Siberia one year ago, that's for sure. But I am extremely excited about the next roadtrip.
